North Wales in UK is famous for the beautiful castles which are scattered all over the place. Most of these Castles were built by Edward I as a military protection.When you visit Wales it is one of the main destinations to be kept in mind.

Caernarfon Castle is one of the main such castles located in the Caernarfon town. It was built not only as a military stronghold but also as a seat of government and a royal palace.

It is one of the most impressive castles of Wales and therefore it is also a popular tourist destination.

Castle location

This magnificent castle is located on the busy quayside at the mouth of the River Seiont, at the northern edge of Snowdonia, which separates Anglesey from North Wales. Caernarfon lies on the west end of the Menai Strait, standing in a magnificent position at the foot of the mountains overlooking Anglesey.

It is at this castle Prince Charles’s investiture took place in 1969 as Prince of Wales. I

Caernarfon Castle is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
